I can totally understand that. Here’s the deal. When you’re new to upholstery and still learning, going all out for expensive upholstery fabric is never the answer. Best practices will tell you to consider the ‘Double Rub Count’ This is how many times your fabric can be rubbed twice, before wearing away and falling apart. The higher the double rub count, the stronger the fabric is going to be. Is your project going to be a high traffic piece of furniture? Look for performance fabrics above 50,000 double rubs. Is this project just for you and going to collect laundry next to the bed? Do whatever the hell you want. You’re still new at this and th e important thing to focus on is practice and repetition of your skills. You don’t have to spend a lot to learn a lot.
