Meet Lynne Sellers! Lynne had some furniture experience when we met over a year ago at her first upholstery class with me. She was a quick study! It wasn’t long before she became my mainstay Upholstery Assistant! Her work gets better and better every day and I am so excited to share she has been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to open up her own upholstery shop in Albion Michigan, with much less risk that someone starting a business from scratch.
We’ve all heard of baby showers right? Lynne certainly has. She just delivered her 4th child nearly 6 months ago! I want to help start her off on the right foot by hosting a Small Business Shower for her. We will all meet at her new place Saturday February 24th to help her finish setting up for her grand opening on March 1st, and we will shower her with gifts from her wish list and helpful advice for the future. If you can’t be there in person, you’ll see a bunch of other ways you can participate below!
Lynn's Wish List
Here are the tasks Lynne still has left to complete that we will be helping her complete on Saturday the 24th:
- Help lay out her shop space for production efficiency.
- Set Up Window Displays.
- Set up safe space for kids to play and do homework.
- Figure out materials storage.
Here is a list of items Lynne still needs:
- Dust collection system (Harbor freight has one thats perfect for her size space for around $300)
- Peg Boards ($25 per 4×8 sheets at Home Depot)
- Extra Scissors (she likes these in my class)
- Boxes of Staples various lengths but mstly 1/2″ (find some here)
- Drop Cloth
- Push Broom
- Large dust pan
- Trash Cans
- Shop Towels
- Ceiling Mounted compressor hose reels (harbor freight has these too)
