Chair-Off Competition Details

The Chair-Off Competition is designed to test your creativity, precision, and craftsmanship. Participants will be given a standard chair to transform using their unique upholstery techniques. Judging will be based on originality, technique, and overall aesthetic. The competition will take place over three days, with each participant having a set amount of time to complete their project. Prizes to be announced!

Event Dates:

August 23rd: 3-hour kickoff (Friday)
August 24th-25th: Two full days of reimagining and reupholstering (Saturday and Sunday, 8 hours each day)

The Challenge: Participants will be given identical chairs and tasked with transforming them into stunning pieces of art. This event is not just about showcasing your unique vision and craftsmanship; it’s also a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills, learn new techniques, and speed up your process in a fun, supportive environment.

Competition Terms and Conditions(Required)

Chair Off Terms and Conditions

Eligibility:

The competition is open to individuals aged 18 and over.
No Upholstery Experience is necessary. This competition is to help you learn and grow.
Only one entry per person is allowed.

Entry Submission:

To enter, participants must complete the entry form with all required details and submit it by the specified deadline.
Incomplete or late entries will not be considered.

Selection of Participants:

Six participants will be selected based on the information provided in their entry forms.
Selected participants will be notified via email by July 1.

Competition Rules:

Participants will be provided with identical chairs to reimagine and reupholster.
The competition will take place over three days: August 23rd (3 hours), August 24th (8 hours), and August 25th (8 hours).
All work must be completed within the designated timeframes.
Participants must use the materials provided and follow the competition guidelines.

Professional Development:

The competition is designed to help participants enhance their upholstery skills, learn new techniques, and increase their speed and efficiency.
Workshops and classes will be provided throughout the event.

Judging and Prizes:

Completed chairs will be judged on creativity, craftsmanship, and overall transformation.
Judges' decisions are final and binding.
Prizes will be awarded to the top performers, with the title of 'Chair Off Champion' given to the overall winner.

Conduct:

Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times.
Any form of misconduct, including but not limited to cheating, sabotage, or disruptive behavior, will result in immediate disqualification.

Liability:

The organizers are not responsible for any injuries, loss, or damage incurred during the competition.
Participants are responsible for their own safety and well-being during the event.

Use of Images and Content:

By entering the competition, participants consent to the use of their images, names, and work for promotional purposes by the organizers.
Participants may be featured in photos, videos, and other media related to the event.

Changes and Cancellation:

The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the competition format, schedule, or terms and conditions as necessary.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the competition may be postponed or canceled at the discretion of the organizers.
